Have you ever tried to write a limerick?

The first two lines rhyme together, then the third and fourth lines rhymes together, and the last line rhymes with the first two.

A "good" limerick is short, hits the right rhymes, and is clever or funny. These were originally an oral form, and keeping a piece short, rhymed, and funny helps people remember it.

Create a limerick and you could win great prizes!

All students from middle and high school across West Virginia are eligible to enter. There are some great prizes, including a book scholarship for the high school senior winner who decides to attend WVU!

This competition is in honor of West Virginia University professor Dr. Armand Singer. Singer loved limericks, and so should you!

Entries must be submitted by midnight Friday, Nov. 20, 2015.

Why a limerick competition?
